Burkina Faso is the world´s most neglected crisis
Unfortunately, this post does not require much introduction. As you will see, it is a translation of the latest report from the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), which is an independent humanitarian organization that aids displaced people (people forced to flee their homes). For the first time, Burkina tops the list of the most neglected displacement crises in the world.
Burkina’s situation has grown worse over time – ranking seventh in 2020, second in 2021, and now first in 2022 – with nearly one in four Burkinabé people in need of assistance. This decline reveals the gravity of our beloved country’s increasingly insecure situation – explained by the NRC in nine key markers. May the report serve as yet another motivation for us to continue working together in Rimkieta and to entrust our efforts to Our Lady of Peace. Burkina Faso is the world´s most neglected crisis.
